Ganging up on Denktash

The Turkish newspaper Zaman reports some encouraging news for the future of a united Cyprus: "Three Party Protocol Opposes Denktas in TRNC" [Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus]. The three opposition parties are the Peace and Democracy Movement (BDH), the Republican Turkish Party-United Forces (CTP), and the Solution and EU Party (CABP). On thursday the three parties agreed to co-operate in the December election in a bid to unseat Turkish-Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash, who is generally recognized to be the primary obstacle to the island's reunification. To these parties I can only say best wishes and Godspeed.
