The Electoral College

Meanwhile, south of the border, I've never been a great fan of the US's Electoral College, which works much like our own first-past-the-post system to distort representation. The indecisive 2000 presidential election seemed to indicate the flaws in that method of choosing the occupant of the highest office in the land.
