Cyprus solution possible

The American ambassador to Cyprus is optimistic that a solution can be found there before its entry into the European Union next year, as reported in China's People's Daily. All the same, Kofi Anan is sending his special envoy for Cyprus, Alvaro de Soto, to try to settle the longstanding dispute over the Western Sahara, apparently judging that there's nothing to be done at present in the troubled island.
