The limited nature of authority

So soon after giving my inaugural lecture on this topic, I have sought to emphasize to my introductory students that all human authority is limited authority. If I were to begin pontificating on a field outside of my expertise, such as chemistry, then, I told them, they would have to take what I said with a small measure of sodium chloride.
